Engine (Power)

Your Sierra 2500 will come equipped with one of two available engine options. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter V-8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. If that doesn't quite work for you, you may be more interested in the Duramax diesel variant with its 445 horsepower and incredible 910 pound-feet of torque. The standard engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel has a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The performance and capability of the Sierra 2500 are among the best available thanks to its maximum gas towing of 18,500 pounds when properly equipped. If you opt for the diesel powertrain, however, that limit increases to 20,000 pounds. In terms of payload, you can put up to 3,979 pounds of cargo in the bed without any problems.

Interior

On the inside of the Sierra 2500, you'll find an interior welcoming to passengers and cargo alike. With rear-seat storage such as rear seatback cubbies, you'll have plenty of room to stow those extra items you may need. Plus, crew cab models have plenty of room for rear passengers, offering more legroom than some other trucks do in the front. Additionally, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard alongside an 8-inch touchscreen. This truck can also be set as a mobile hot spot with a 120-volt outlet as well.

Safety Features

While this truck has plenty of driver assistance features available, its crowning achievement might be the comprehensive camera system. You'll find up to 15 different viewing modes for the camera, including a mode called transparent that allows you to see as if the trailer you're towing wasn't even there. Still more traditional driver assistance features like forward collision warning with automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert are available as well.
