Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival 

The Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival is an award-winning and family-friendly event held every May in Rock Quarry Park. The festival honors and celebrates African and African-American culture, history, traditions, and arts. If you decide to attend the festival, bring a blanket or lawn chair so you can kick back, relax, and enjoy the live music and local talent. Festival for the Eno 

Festival for the Eno is how Durham celebrates Independence Day, making the festival the place to be for some exciting artwork. The event takes place every July at the scenic West Point on the Eno city park. As you stroll through the park, the sounds of live music from the impressive variety of performers drift through the air. If you’re hungry, stop by the food section offering everything from fresh-ground cornmeal to giant turkey legs.

CenterFest Arts Festival 

CenterFest Arts Festival is one of the premier art festivals in Durham. Since 1975, the event has brought the streets of downtown Durham alive with arts, crafts, food, entertainment, and fun. Every third weekend of September, around 35,000 attendees gather with numerous artists from around the country to celebrate the CenterFest Arts Festival. As you browse the booths, you’ll discover drawings, pottery, photographs, glasswork, jewelry, paintings, and more. 

The festival also offers plenty of opportunities for family fun. Kids can head to the South Bank parking lot to go on a train ride, have some fun in the bounce houses, and get their faces painted. When they’re ready to show off their artistic skills, you can take them to the Creative Kids Zone to take part in the exciting hands-on art activities there. 

Durham Art Walk 

Durham Art Walk is a twice-a-year event that occurs every March and November, offering a weekend full of live music, visual art by local makers, food truck favorites, and excellent shopping. Not only does the festival give you a chance to check out the local art venues, but it also features workshops, prizes inside the Durham Arts Council Pavilion, children’s crafts at Durham Arts Council, and an outdoor art marketplace.
