Three Mexican Restaurants Worth the Drive Near Oxford, NC

Taquería y Pupuseria TiTa

Located at 125 Broad St, in Tita Mexican and Salvadorian food, this Mexican restaurant is open from 8am until 8pm every day. This spot is small, but it offers genuine flavor at good prices. Everything here is authentic, delicious, and full of flavor. It reads authentic Mexican all day long.

When you’re here, try the pupusas, the chicharrones, and the gorditas. Their spicy can be made extra spicy (and you should ask for it if you can handle it), and they also make their own homemade fruit drinks. There’s nothing fancy about the shop or the decor, but the food is second to none.

Mazatlan of Oxford

Head over to 106 E Industry Dr. Ste B for some delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine. The service here is second to none: that is absolutely their best quality and a reason to come again and again. They’re open from lunch from 11am until 2:30p and for dinner from 5pm to 9:30pm during the week. On Friday night, they stay open until 10:30pm.

We recommend you try out their pollo loco, which is grilled chicken breast with garlic, lime, and their housemade special sauce. They serve it up with guac salad, Spanish rice, and tortillas. You should also try the camarones a la diabla. That’s shrimp that’s been marinated in their special adovo sauce and served up with an avocado salad, tomatoes, and Spanish rice.

Speed Grill & Deli

You read the name, and you think you’ll be going here for burgers, right? But this is a Mexican spot with great food. They’re located at 428 Lewis St and open up from 7am until 8pm during the week. Their Saturday hours are 8am until 8pm, and they are open on Sunday from 10am until 6pm.

We recommend their unique torta hawaina, which is ham, pineapple, onion, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, avocados, and cheese. They do a fantastic plato de barbacoa de res, and great mojarra frita, which is fried tilapia with a nice salad. Try their burritos, which can be made with steak, chicken, or pork.
