1. Granville Athletic Park

The whole family will have something to do here at this spacious park. You can throw a baseball or football around with the boys, play a game of disc golf, or watch a baseball game when local teams are playing and take advantage of the food and beverage concessions. The kids will have a blast at the playground and on a hot summer day, they can cool off at the splash pad.

Bring your family dog so he can run around in the pet area too. If you want to bring some food for a mid-day lunch, there are picnic areas and grills available. You’ll also find restrooms on-site. Visit here at 4615 Belltown Rd.

2. Wilton Slopes

Walk one of the several trails in this beautiful park and breathe in the fresh, clean air. The trails are on the shorter side and take just under an hour to walk at a moderate pace. They are also kid-friendly. You can also take your fishing rods and find your way down to the river, or bring your canoe or kayak to the put-in area and paddle your way along the water.

Pack the cooler full of treats and cold beverages as you take a break under the picnic pavilion. To find Wilton Slopes, turn onto 3398 State Hwy. 96 and continue down the road for 0.1 mile until you get to 3442 State Hwy. 96.

3. Hix Complex

Multiple adventures await you and your family here at Hix Complex. There’s lots of space to have a picnic or even a family gathering. The adults can sit back and enjoy each other’s company while the kiddos run around on the playground. Hix Complex also has multipurpose fields where you can play a game of baseball, football, or play catch with your kid.

Or perhaps you’d rather hit the basketball court while the teenagers ride their boards or bikes at the skate park. There is even a dog park where your pet can enjoy his own quality outdoor time. This establishment is located at 313 E. Spring St.
